The Federation of
Portuguese Canadian Business & Professionals (FPCBP) is once again
recognizing the outstanding achievement of Luso-Canadian youth with
scholarships ranging from $1,000.00 to $2,500.00.
To be eligible, students
must be residents of Ontario and enrolled in High School, College, University Undergraduate program or
University Graduate program.
Students are required to
scan and submit electronically their applications and transcripts to info@fpcbp.com (students will still be
required to mail an official transcript).
Also new for this year is
the Portuguese Studies Scholarship Award, directed at university or college
students who have completed at least the equivalent of two full courses in
Portuguese at the second year level or higher, or students who are pursuing an
undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies at a Canadian university. This
scholarship is meant to recognize students who are not of Portuguese ancestry,
but are interested in the Portuguese language, literature and/or culture.
All
applications and official transcripts must be received on or before January
17th, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
The scholarships will be
awarded at the annual Scholarship awards dinner at Pearson Convention Center
on March 1, 2014.
