University of the Azores Summer Courses 2012

As in past years, the University of the Azores (UAc) is offering Summer Courses, with focus on promoting the university and the Azores, as well as the Portuguese language and Azorean culture. The Portuguese language has three levels of proficiency, whether as foreign language or second one. The main goal is to develop the communication skills of all participants, focusing as much as possible on their individual needs. This year, for the first time, there will a module dedicated to Portuguese Literature. Those interested have the opportunity to visit the islands of Faial and Terceira for one week courses on ‘The Azorean Sea – uncovering the mysteries’ and ‘The Land and the rural perspective’, respectively. À semelhança de anos anteriores, a Universidade dos Açores (UAc) oferece um Curso de Verão, cujo principal objetivo é o da divulgação da instituição e da Região Autónoma dos Açores, bem como da língua portuguesa e da cultura açoriana. A Língua Portuguesa está presente em três níveis, quer como língua estrangeira, quer como língua segunda. O principal objetivo de qualquer um dos níveis é desenvolver a competência comunicativa dos participantes, respondendo, tanto quanto possível, às necessidades individuais de cada aluno. Este ano, pela primeira vez, foi adicionado o módulo de Literatura Portuguesa, que contempla as suas várias épocas. Os interessados têm igualmente a oportunidade de visitar as ilhas do Faial e da Terceira, para cursos de uma semana sobre ‘O Mar dos Açores’ e ‘A Terra – o mundo rural’, respetivamente. As candidaturas para a edição de 2012 estão abertas até 30 de Março e devem ser submetidas ao Gabinete de Relações Internacionais da UAc.
