Visa applicants will be able, in the very near future, to lodge their applications on the internet before submitting their supporting documents to the Consulate General of Portugal in Toronto. Appointments (Monday through Friday, between 9am and 1 pm) to submit supporting documents to the Consulate General can also be booked online. Applicants will also be able to check the status of their applications online.
This new procedure, guided at simplifying the visa application process, is only available to applicants residing in the Province of Ontario. If you do not reside in the Province of Ontario, please contact the applicable Portuguese diplomatic mission listed in this blog under "Instituições Portuguesas no Canadá". This information only applies to short-term visas for up to 90 days. If you intend to work or stay more than 90 days (in any six months' period), please contact the Consulate General, as you may need a Work/Residence Permit.
