Narrativas da Diáspora Portuguesa: Emigração e Identidade

Portuguese Studies at York University, in conjunction with the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Linguistics and the Instituto Camões, is pleased to announce that it will be holding the following symposium: “Narratives of the Portuguese Diaspora: Emigration and Identity." The event will take place in March, 25th, 2010 (from 4:30 to 6:30). The event will celebrate the accomplishments of the Portuguese diaspora and will gather writers, academics, students and interested community members.
Please mark your calendars (more details will follow)! This event will close another successful year for the recently created Portuguese Studies at York University. This year, York University has embarked on a new journey as it has created a new Faculty; the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, the biggest of its kind in Canada, continues to "Redefine the Possible." As such, Portuguese Studies is taking part of this journey as we continue to highlight the many contributions of the Portuguese and their descendants to all realms of the intellectual development of the diaspora. Consider joining us at York University on March, 25, 2010!
